Brow Aftercare
Aftercare is important for good results!
Follow instructions carefully as this greatly affects the outcome of your permanent makeup. The eyebrows may be swollen for the first few hours. For the first 3-6 days, the colour intensity of your procedure will be significantly brighter or darker until the scab peels off, as well as larger and sharper then what is expected for the final outcome. Although the area will appear healed after 10 days, it will not be fully healed for 4-6 weeks – this is based on how quickly the outer layer of your skin exfoliates. Try to sleep on your back during the healing process.
One procedure cannot guarantee desired outcome. In some cases, we need to see how our clients react to the pigment and review the healing process after the first procedure. Touch-ups are required for optimal results. 1-3 months after the initial session. It is the clients responsibility to book their touch-up as soon as possible to avoid missing the timeframe.
- Keep the area CLEAN. Use a damp cotton pads to gently wipe away excess fluid and pigment.
- Keep the area MOISTURIZED. Gently apply every hour or two or when you feel tender, itchy or dry for 10-14 days. This provides pain relief, moisturizes, prevents infection, promotes healing and helps retain colour.
- Avoid soaps/facial cleansers on pigmented areas (wash around them) pat dry with a clean towel.
- When showering, do not directly shower the treated area.
- Before sleeping, apply a thick later of Vitamin A&D ointment on top to keep the area moisturized overnight.
- DO NOT rub, scratch or pick any crust along the tattooed area. Every removal of pigment crusts may result in lost colour.
- DO NOT apply makeup on the pigments area during the healing process.
- Avoid swimming, soaking, steam bath and facials.
- Avoid applying exfoliates or AHA/glycol acid products to the tattooed area for at least 2 weeks.
- Avoid sun exposure (including tanning beds) during healing process.
Long Term Care
- Use a good sunscreen daily on tattooed area otherwise the colour will fade faster.
- Touch-ups are needed every 1-3 years. The fading speed varies on each individual depending on their lifestyle/skin type.
